Big Sister Class

Madelyn took a big sister class at the hospital a few Saturdays ago and she was so excited. It was such a cute little class. The teacher asked the children what was different about mommy now that she was having a baby and several kids answered and then Madelyn starting talking and I starting holding my breath, I was so scared of what she was going to say but luckily she just said you have to be careful with mommy and not be rough. The children learn some rules for having a new baby in the house, practiced holding babies (with baby dolls) and got a tour of the hospital.

Grandpa and Grandma took us to The Club for mascot night. Madelyn loved seeing all her favorite team mascots.

Gatlinburg Trip

We took a family trip to Gatlinburg and had so much fun. We stayed at the Wyndham wilderness resort that had two water parks. On Friday we took the girls to the waterpark and they loved it. Madelyn loved going in the wave pool with daddy and pretending like she was on Bucky (a boat). Mymy, Pop and Uncle B arrived late Friday and then Saturday morning we went to the water  park again.

Saturday night we went to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. Madelyn loved seeing all the animals and kept screaming yee haw!

After the show we took Madelyn to the outside stables where they keep all the horses and she was in heaven. 

Sunday we went to the Ripley's aquarium.

 After the aquarium we took the Tram up to Ober Gatlinburg.

We ate lunch looking over Gatlinburg, rode the carousel and walked through the wildlife encounter to see baby bears.

Monday we headed back home but before we could leave we had to play in the huge arcade at the resort.

Madelyn started dance class this year and she loves it. She taking a ballet and tap combo class that meets once a week for a hour. It's so cute to see all the little girls in their ballet outfits walking into class carrying their dance bags.

Names

No we don't have a name for baby brother yet, we aren't even close. But big sister comes up with names daily and some of them are so funny.

School Days

Madelyn started mother's day out at a new church this year. It's right down the street from the house so it's super convenient, which will be even better when baby brother gets here and some of her neighborhood friends go there too. She has two sweet teachers this year and lots of sweet little classmates. She seems to really like it.

It's a boy!!

We are so excited to have a sweet baby boy on the way. I'm still a little shocked that it's a boy but could not be happier. We had a ultrasound yesterday at 16 weeks and were thrilled to be able to find out what we're having. We had a little gender reveal party last night at Mymy and Pop's house and decided to go ahead and tell Madelyn she was getting a sibling. We hadn't told her before last night just because she asks so many questions and that would make for a long nine months. Now I only have five more months of questions. She is so excited to have a baby brother on the way, she hasn't stopped talking about it. When we asked her if she wanted a baby brother or sister she said sister but that quickly changed once she found out she was getting a brother. She had lots of questions, like where he was, how he got in my belly, how she could get him out, she even yelled at my belly "come out baby brother".  She also told me to open my mouth so she could get him out. Ha!

 Madelyn had so much fun at our little party and already loves baby brother so much. She cried last night and then again today after she woke up from her nap because she just wants her baby brother to come now!! Trying to explain to an upset three year old why we have to wait a few more months for baby brother is not an easy task but I think for now she understands- hopefully.
