Cousins

Madelyn got to meet her cousins for the first time this past weekend. We drove up to Nashville for the weekend to meet Matt, Mary, Aubry and Paisley. Madelyn loves her cousins and can't wait until they get to Birmingham next week.

Getting all three girls to look at the camera was just not going to happen.
My-Myee was in heaven with all 3 of her babies.

Great Grandmother Sirmon got to meet Madelyn and Paisley for the first time.

7 Months Old

At 7 months old Madelyn is still a happy little girl. She smiles and laughs all day long and is into everything. Everything has to be touched and then goes straight into her mouth. She loves to "talk" very very loudly and loves to meet new people. Her two favorite people are mommy and daddy, for right now anyway. She loves to smile at Keyser then pull his hair or kick him and he doesn't really seem to mind, we are so thankful he's sweet with her. Madelyn is such a good eater, she is now eating carrots, squash, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, pears, peaches and mangoes. She's has been trying to get up on her knees to crawl, I think she will be crawling by Christmas. Madelyn has the ability to sleep through the night but most nights she chooses not to. It's way more fun to wake up the whole house all night long than to sleep. We stay very tired but she is well worth it. Spence and I love this little girl more than we ever knew we could. We are so thankful to have such a beautiful happy and healthy little girl in our lives.

UPDATE: We went to the doctor today to get Madelyn's second flu and swine flu shots and she didn't even cry. At 7 months Madelyn weighs 16.75 pounds.

We have a tooth

Madelyn's first tooth has come in. She's had it for a few weeks but I haven't been able to get a picture of it until today, she doesn't like to show it off much. I think she has another coming in because she has been unusually cranky the past couple of days.

Happy 1/2 Birthday

Madelyn turned 6 months old last Tuesday. On Thursday she had her 6 month checkup with Dr. C. She got 4 shots including her first flu shot. She has to go back in a month to get her second flu shot. So until then Dr. C told us to keep her away from toddlers, school ages kids and sick people so she doesn't catch anything. At 6 months Madelyn weighs 15 pounds 5 ounces and is 25 inches long. She is now eating rice cereal, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes and green beans. I can't believe that it has already been 6 months since we were bringing home a tiny baby that only weighed 6 pounds. Madelyn has completely changed our lives. We are constantly laughing with this wild child, she is no longer a quiet calm little baby. She plays, laughs and smiles all day long. She loves Keyser and Otis and watching all the fish at Grandma and Grandpa's house. This month's pictures were a little more difficult than better. Madelyn wanted to eat her 6 month sign.

Beach Trip

Madelyn had her first trip to the beach last week. Our good friends Trey and Shelley got married on Saturday so we decided to go down on Wednesday for a little family vacation. It was Madelyn's first long car ride (she did not do well on the ride down)first time to spend the night away from home, first time to see the beach, her first rehearsal dinner and first wedding all in one weekend. She loved being on the beach in her tent however she did not like her toes in the ocean. She slept like a little angel at night the whole time we were there. The past two nights back at home she has woke up screaming all night long. If she keeps this up we might just have to move to the beach! I was a little nervous about taking her to the rehearsal dinner and wedding but she was a perfect little angel both nights. She loved meeting and smiling at so many new people. Here are a few pictures from our trip.
