Baby brother is here....

Greyson Wesley Sirmon was born on Wednesday January 16th at 2:02 pm weighing 6 lbs 14oz. and 20 inches long. He's tiny and perfect and we could not be anymore in love with him.
We had a bit of a rough start on getting our sweet baby here. My epidural went up too high on my chest so they had to turn it off for a while causing me to be able to feel contractions again only at that point I was dilated a lot more than 4cms and the contraction were a lot stronger. My blood pressure kept dropping really low and they could not get it stabilized and Greyson's heartrate kept dropping extremely low, the nurses and my doctor told us that if they couldn't get it under control quickly (it had been happening for a few hours at this point) then they would have to do a c-section. I did not want a c-section and I was so scared. I started praying and so did Spencer and God must have been listening because my blood pressure finally stabilized and Greyson's heart rate never dropped again. I went from 6cm to 10 really quick, pushed for 16 minutes and he was here. Once he started crying he didn't stop for a good hour, he was mad! After I feed him and he got a bath Spencer went to the waiting room to get Madelyn so she could meet her baby brother. She was so excited but acted shy at first. She wanted to get in the bed with me so we let her and then she wanted to hold her baby brother. She kept saying how cute he was and telling him that she loved him, she was so sweet. After a while Spencer went to get everyone else from the waiting room so they could meet baby boy. Madelyn got to announce to everyone baby brother's name and she did a great job. She did not want anyone else to hold him and she informed me that she was going to spend the night at the hospital with us. After some convincing she decided that she would spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa so she could come back in the morning. She is such a great big sister.

Once we got home Madelyn showed Greyson her room and then all the other rooms in the house. She was so excited to be home with us but not too excited that she didn't want to go spend 3 nights at Mymy and Pop's house. She had already spent 3 nights at Grandpa and Grandma's house so why not let her go get even more rotten, right? Tuesday was our first full day to be home as a family of 4 and it went a lot better than I thought it would have. Madelyn has been such a great big sister and has been very helpful. We are so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends that have helped take care of Madelyn, brought us food and helped us out in this first week. We are truly blessed!
